Myung Eun Cha is a womenswear fashion designer who graduated from Parsons the New School for Design in 2017. She participated in 69th annual Parsons benefit Runway and CFDA Future Graduate Showcase in May, 2017. She had an interview with VOGUE ITALIA for Vogue talents category with her recent collection, SS18.
Myung is into "Modernized deconstruction" which is a combination of modernism and deconstructivism. Deconstructivism is one of popular theories in postmodern architecture. It includes most of her aesthetics in that it aims to dislocate the skeleton of the object to distort the basic and standard form. She usually creates unique silhouette which has variations on all sides by deconstructing, layering panels, combining structural shapes and curvilinear lines.
She sometimes makes the garments disorganized but they never look chaotic. "Balance" is also a critical point of her design in construction, textiles, and color combinations.
